Monster Immunity Workaround for solo player
I've not played the game in my life since being a child and when I came back to it, I was shocked by the time I hit Hell extremely difficult and encountered invincible monsters. I didn't recall any of them, but I'm sure I've remembered that I was able to play all games with all characters as a child? - I'm probably not remembering it correctly.
In any event After a little review of immunities, I realize that there's just one (1!) build that is able to ignore immunities and attack all creatures that is it's the "Blessed Hammer" build. I'm thinking: "okay that is stupid and there's only one option to pick to play solo?" but I proceed to create a Paladin as I'm just looking to play by myself and don't want to be joining together with others to combat immunity.
The moment I'm now a "Blessed Hammer" Paladin, and I've never been happierI truly dislike this ability. Any other skill that is in the game, could be acceptable to me. this one, however I am really unhappy with the way it works and I don't really appreciate it even though I attempted to understand how to utilize it. It's awful.
I'm really keen to play the game however, I feel required to play as groups, or and play "Blessed Hammer" or to load areas again in order to switch immunity monsters and avoid groups with immunity generally... But this seems... incorrect? The "flow" during play is now "stuttering" in the event that you are forced to leave the area constantly to determine whether you're dealing with the "wrong" type of immune monsters. not having the ability to clear every area isn't right for me. I generally kill everything on every map.
What is the reason there's no way to reduce immunity? Do I have missed something obvious that decreases resistance so I can play by myself as any character, without having the "Blessed Hammer" to build groups, join groups, reload areas, or escape creatures that are immune?
I can just imagine some responses to this post: "you just want the game to be simple" But I can swear that this isn't the scenario. If the immunities mentioned above are able to be diluted by a difficult to implement mechanic, I'd not want to. It's the "play this construct" or "just go away" things that I don't like however if that's the case, I'll need to get over it and tell myself that this game isn't suitable for me. This is a shame.
