The Spirits of the Elid quest is one of the desert adventures in Old School RuneScape that blends puzzle-solving, combat, and exploration. Not only is the storyline engaging-restoring water to the drought-stricken city of Nardah-but the rewards make it worthwhile, especially for players looking to train Prayer, Magic, or Thieving. In this guide, we’ll walk step-by-step through the quest, covering the requirements, items, and strategies you’ll need to complete it smoothly. Additionally, having the option to buy OSRS gold can help you acquire essential quest items more easily and save time during your adventure.

Requirements and Recommended Items

To begin, ensure you’ve met the following requirements:

· Items needed:

 o 1 Air rune

 o 1 Law rune

 o Needle and thread

o A weapon with all four attack styles (stab, slash, crush, ranged). A poisoned dragon spear works perfectly.

o Light source (candle or lantern, plus a tinderbox as backup)

 o Knife, rope, and pickaxe

 o Bow and arrows

· Optional but recommended supplies:

o Sharks or other high-healing food

o Prayer potions (though often unnecessary)

 o Stamina and energy potions

o Waterskins (minimal use but helpful if you misclick or wander)

o Teleports such as an Amulet of Glory or Necklace of Passage

o At least 10,000 coins for travel via the magic carpet system

Starting the Quest

The quest begins in Nardah, a city located in the Kharidian Desert. From Al Kharid, purchase a Shantay Pass and head south into the desert. Using the magic carpet system, travel first to Pollnivneach, then to Nardah. Upon arrival, locate Awusah the Mayor inside the central building and start the quest.

Early Steps: The Ballad and the Robes

After speaking with Awusah, head north to Ghaslor the Elder, who will give you a ballad that contains clues. Your first task is to search a cupboard in a nearby house for torn robes. Use your needle and thread to repair them into wearable desert robes.

Next, cast Telekinetic Grab on the Ancestral Key found on a nearby table. Equip the repaired robes, then use the key to unlock the cave entrance northwest of Nardah. Use a rope on the tree root near the waterfall to climb down into the cave.

The Golem Trials

Inside the cave, three golems guard the water channels. Each can only be damaged with a specific attack style:

1. White Golem (Stab attack)

o Use the lunge style of your spear.

o Poison effects do work, making the fight easier.

o After the fight, clear the water channel before leaving.

2. Gray Golem (Slash attack)

 o Switch to slash/swipe.

 o Again, poison is effective.

o Use your pickaxe to clear another water channel.

3. Black Golem (Crush attack)

 o Switch to crush/pound.

o This fight usually takes the longest. Be patient and let poison chip away.

o Once finished, use your bow and arrows to shoot a nearby target, completing the final water channel puzzle.

After all three channels are cleared, speak to the Spirits of the Elid at the lake. They will thank you and instruct you to return to Nardah.

The Genie Encounter

Back in Nardah, return to Awusah, then follow instructions to pick up a pair of shoes. Cut open the soles with your knife, revealing a hidden key item.

Next, head west of Nardah to a crevice. Use your rope to climb down. Inside, you’ll encounter a genie guarding a statuette. Speak to him, then use the shoes’ sole to complete the dialogue sequence. He will give you the statuette.

Completing the Quest

Bring the statuette back to Nardah and use it on the plinth inside the northern building. After a short cutscene, the city’s water supply will be restored, and the quest is complete.

Rewards

Upon completion of Spirits of the Elid, you’ll receive:

· 2 Quest Points

· 8,000 Prayer XP (enough to gain multiple levels for mid-level accounts)

· 1,000 Thieving XP

· 1,000 Magic XP

· Access to Nardah’s shrine and water supply, plus a local bank

For many players, the Prayer XP is the highlight, while others value Nardah’s new convenience as a base for desert adventures.

Tips and Closing Thoughts

· Don’t overpack. Many optional items, such as extra prayer potions, won’t be necessary if you’re properly prepared.

· The Faded Ring (if you’ve unlocked it earlier) can serve as a much quicker teleport to Nardah than magic carpets.

· The robes you repair can’t be kept after the quest, but they play an essential role in progressing.

Overall, Spirits of the Elid is a moderately easy quest with decent combat and puzzle variety. The story is straightforward, and the XP rewards-especially for Prayer-make it well worth completing early in your desert questing journey. For players looking to speed up their progress or acquire needed items, having access to cheap RS gold can make completing the quest even smoother and more efficient.
